Recently picked two plants up from the reptile and amphibian… | Pests, diseases and problems | Planta community

Recently picked two plants up from the reptile and amphibian terrarium section of a pet store (in my defense, they were both only $7), and they were in this POOL filled with water 😱 their soil was soaked and I noticed some webs, and saw one spider crawl out, but checked them for pests and the roots looked good once I got them home. I repotted them in some fresh, dry soil surrounding their current soil, and I’m gonna let it dry out completely before watering, but I’d like to ask for any tips to prevent any possible pest exposure now that they’re home. They’re currently in quarantine, and I haven’t seen anything on them since, but I’d like to be safe than sorry. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would say give them a good shower and wipe down the leaves. Then spray them down with neem oil spray or insecticidal soap!

Thanks! I spritzed the soil before repotting, but I didn’t rinse water over it because of all damp it already is. Do you pour water over the soil after spraying it with insecticidal soap?
