Can anyone tell me why my Alocasia is doing this!? I have had her for a new months and recently repotted her into a chunky soil mix that she seemed fine in for a while. I recently went out of town and left her sitting by a window with bright indirect light. She I got back she had a couple small brown spots on a few leaves so I moved her away from the window. It has been a few days but now one of her leaves looks like this. Help.
I've had a couple alocasia Polly's before, & the leaves have always looked like this due to overwatering for me personally. I'm not sure how much perlite you added to your soil, but my alocasias seem to do really good in a more perlite heavy soil mix compared to a chunky mix with not a lot of perlite! If this is the only leave that looks like this though, it could just be adjusting to a different type of soil than it was used to.... but I would keep a good eye on it!

좋아요 1개I’ve learned that Alocasias are dramatic about root disturbance. They often sacrifice an older leaf to redirect energy. This happened to me once and I had to cut off the leaf 😔 but I’m not sure if that’s what’s going on with your plant considering she was fine.
0개 좋아요 That could be the case since I repotted her recently. She also had that mesh wrap thing around her roots that I cut off as well, so it would make sense.
0개 좋아요These like to have very consistent moisture levels. If your timing is inconsistent for watering, it'll stress and do this. I finally got mine to stop throwing tantrums with a self watering pot
