Anybody know what this is or how to get rid of him? I picked up a beautiful looking inch plant at a yard sale, came home to report, and several of these little guys were in the soil 😧😧

Looks like a regular centipede. Probably fine. The lady I get plants from uses some creepy crawlies for beneficial purposes. I’d say take them out if you’re not a fan. Otherwise leave em be

Do they spread from plant to plant? Just wondering because this is supposed to be an indoor and I didn't want them to get out and start roaming around my house!

They like dark wet places. They usually hide out in my bathroom. If the soil gets dry they’ll leave so try putting it outside until the soils dry and make sure they’re all gone before you bring it in. Good luck! 🍀

Oh-no usually I wouldn’t buy a plant from like a garage sale or yard sale but you might just wanna get rid of it. I don’t really know I’m a new plant parent so if I’m wrong, really sorry.

Hahaha, girl me too. I'm brand new. I will not be buying from anywhere but my local nursery again. I ended up soaking the soil in a mixture of water, a good half cup of dish soap, and probably the same amount of hydrogen peroxide. No more bugs!

If you just want to get rid of the infested soil but not throw the whole plant out you could take some cuttings and propagate them! I've had a few of those plants and they propagate super quickly and easily, whether in water or soil!

I got to clean the soil!! I didn't know that was even an option. But I ended up soaking it in some water with stuff I added to it, removing most of the soil, and then repotting it. I think I'm gonna wait a week or two and see if she bounces back. Hopefully so! First and LAST time buying a plant at a yard sale 😅
