Are there any tiny webbing anywhere that you can see if you flash a flashlight on it?
1 likei canāt see any webbing or i would be sure they were spider mites!
1 likeThatās good! Yeah Iād go with what everyone else so accurately put and try those methods, some pests just wonāt go away with traditional methods lol
1 likeI got rid of the aphids on the small hoya in the picture with insecticidal spray (Raid) after trying several other methods. I got rid of aphids on two larger hoyas by dunking them under water made from Dawn dishwashing soap. I kept both the soil and plants completely submerged in the bucket over an hour to be sure everything died.
4 likesDefinitely agree with trying this method ā¬ļø Iāve soaked the soil of mine in hydrogen peroxide and water for half an hour to kill larvae and help with any possible root damage from pests, then rinsed it over with water and placed it back in the pot. Thereās lot of other methods to help fight pests too, like drops of peppermint oil into a spray bottle of water, chopped garlic cloves into water, and of course, apple cider vinegar, water, and dish soap. Hope at least one of the methods everyone hereās suggested helps! Good luck!
3 likesI do believe Iām seeing legs if i look close enough.. I was thinking they were aphids but wasnāt as confident in myself. Iām only ever finding them on the newest leaves as well. I will have to go and do a bath for them but should i wait until the soil is dry and spray with raid until then?
1 likeI used Raid as the last option. It wonāt kill the ones in the soil. Try the other methods, first.
0 likesGetting ready to do a soak now but i forgot to mention i have these girls on moss poles! do i need to chop and soak then maybe restart?
0 likesHave you tried changing the soil? Often fresh soil really helps get rid of any eggs that are hard to see
3 likesI havenāt yet because this Mollys Aroid is so expensive but I will if itāll help!
1 likeI definitely think they are spider mites. I have an elephant ear that didnāt have webs for a while until it got really bad.
1 likemy thinking of spider mites is that these seem way too small to be aphids :(
0 likesCheck my photo above. The tiny white dust specks on the lower leaves have legs. They are juvenile aphids. Aphids can be extremely small.
