My cat is the pest in this case 😩 She keeps jumping in my fiddle leaf fig tree pot to play in and lay in the dirt. I raised it nearly a foot off the ground, but she can still jump in. She knocked the whole thing down last night. The only thing I could think of that won’t hurt her is pet safe insect sticky traps. I lined the pot with them as a barrier to keep her out. Any tips on keeping cats out of your plants? I’d hate to have to put it outside, but I may have to.

Ever try just laying a bunch of differently sized rocks on the top of the dirt? The more variance the better, and they're kinda decorative at the same time.

I’ve tried that with other plants when she was younger and she would dig the rocks out. She’s been so good leaving them alone these last few years, but I guess this giant pot of dirt was too tempting. I’ll see about getting some rocks though. Maybe that combined with the sticky traps will do the trick

I ended up putting cinderblocks in the pot of my Benjamin ficus. That kept my cat out.

I can see how that would certainly work. I may have to resort to heavier barricades 😂

Lay aluminum foil on the ground surrounding the plant, they’ll never go near it again!
