Accidentally broke the end of a very long branch on my heart leaf philodendron 😳 Should I try to propagate the broken piece in water or soil? And is there anything I can do to fix the end of the branch or should I just leave it?

You have aerial roots that you can propagate in water.
4 likesI would absolutely propagate it! Firstly let it dry out for 1 day till the wound heals a bit. Then put it in water, it will take a while but I’m pretty sure eventually you will get roots. Once you have a good amount of roots (this will take a while) you can repot it back in your plants pot for an even more full plant

2 likesI accidentally broke part of mine and am propagating it in water. It’s grown roots super quickly
5 likesOh yay good to know!
1 likeDefinitely, propagate it. I would cut off a few more nodes to propagate those. There are large gaps between the leaves indicating the plant is looking for more light (or water). You can look at the gaps between the leaves near the base of the vines close to the soil. These are formed in a more ideal environment in the nursery. So, the gap lengths on the oldest leaves are typically shorter. This gives a bushier look to the plant. My philodendron Micans cuttings show how much vine I left around the leaf before propagating. No need to dry them out before placing in water. I added diluted fertilizer and SuperThrive plant vitamins as soon as the roots emerge. 🪴🍀
