What’s happening to my spider plants? They’re both growing at a fast rate (my baby is no longer a baby anymore! He’s catching up to his sister in size!) but they both have just a couple leaves with these brown markings? As well as brown tips? I don’t think it’s anything to do with watering as I’ve been keeping good track of it, the only thing I can think of is sunburn? As they’re both in a south facing window with direct sunlight and this has only happened over the last day or so (when we’ve had a bit more sunshine) so I’m thinking it’s that? Should I just move them to a less direct place and see if that helps? Any advice welcome:)

Yes I would definitely move those to a shadier spot, mine started to sunburn from direct light, try moving them to a place that still gets some light, just not a lot. Hopefully the burns will fall off soon.

It doesn’t look like sunburn. The burn mark would not be isolated to a sliver on the leaves. There would be more parts of the leaves affected. Spider plants like bright indirect light. They can take early morning or late afternoon direct light which are less intense. You can put up sheer curtains or window film to filter direct sunlight. Window film may be better with blinds. There are hundreds of film designs. They attach with a spray of water in the glass. Static cling keeps the water in place after the film dries. 🍀🪴

What do you suggest this is that’s causing it if not sunburn? It’s happened on a few leaves closer to the ends but the tips of some leaves have been poking through the blinds even when the blinds are closed so maybe that’s why only the ends that were sticking out were affected? I’ve moved them to a more indirect spot now:)

Spider plants are sensitive to impurities in tap water, so the edges/tips of leaves can turn brown from that. Mine also stopped getting brown tips when I put it out on the balcony, so I think the higher humidity helped. Mine gets direct sun in the morning.
