Hi Plant Lovers! Does anyone know why some of my Ficus Benjamina leaves are wrinkled like this please? My partner has had this for around 25yrs now (I took over caring for it around 12yrs ago as he was looking quite sorry for himself. The plant, not my partner 😆) and we've never noticed the leaves do this before. I only water when the top couple of inches of soil is dry, allowing it to drain properly. I've checked for pests and can't see anything. It's growing new leaves so seems generally healthy, but these wrinkly leaves are concerning me. Should I be worried?

wrinkly leaves are usually underwatering, but if new growth is fine then it's a past issue and is no longer a concern

Thank you for the reassurance plantgeek. The new leaves aren't wrinkly, so I think you could be right on it being a past issue then. I'll keep an eye on him. Thank you.

Wrinkled leaves on a Ficus Benjamina are most likely caused by underwatering or inconsistent watering, leading to a loss of turgor pressure in the plant's cells.
