(When i got my zz that leaf in the middle was already there (attached to the rhyzome) Its gotten bigger but now turning yellow, but why? Dont overwater and gets decent sun and growing

    Your ZZ is probably diverting nutrients and energy to new growth and decided it doesn’t need that leaf anymore lol Is it still securely attached to the rhizome?

    The big leaf is probably the original propagation.

    it was probably propagated from the leaf. now that the plant doesn't need it that leaf isn't being given as much energy, and because it's in the soil, it's likely starting to rot from the moisture. overwatering does not always cause this. leaves that are partially submerged in soil or water will commonly begin to rot due to moisture and lack of aeration
