Hi Plantas Peeps: I have this beautiful Calathea, for the most part I this it’s doing great! But I’m checking it out and found the new shoots are not shooting up and just drying out underneath the top beautiful leaves, any suggestions?

Check the roots. Maybe rotten or no more space so it kills old leaves but unsure about new growth. It happened to my ZZ plant and now it’s doing better.

Can you post a picture of the new shoots you’re seeing that are drying out? One yellow leaf like that isn’t a major concern — and this looks really good otherwise

Do you see all that brown growth that is drying out? Is this normal?

Oh! I had a feeling this might be it. Those are just the sheaths that protect the new leaves as they unfurl. Totally normal. Here they are in my rattlesnake 💚😊
