Please help me! She’s a Dieffenbachia. When we first got her she had several leaves but they all turned brown and fell off. I’ve repotted her and she had hardly any roots. Since then she has struggled growing. All her new leaves are growing in brown and moist. They have a hard time unfurling. Please any tips would be appreciated, we received her from my bf’s grandmas funeral so she’s important.

Ok that’s what I thought.. these plants need high humidity.. I would now try a humidifier or pebble tray to try and see if it will save it and the new leaves unfurl. When these plants start to get unhappy they start to drop all leaves at the bottom first.

I have it right next to a humidifier. Originally had her on a pebble tray.

Oh wow really 😏🤔did you check your roots for root rot.. I would try to repot in a smaller pot since it has dropped so many leaves so it will not have so much soil to cover. Did you ever have fungus gnats swarming around?

If it had hardly any roots, then it probably needs to be in a much smaller pot. The pot should only be an inch bigger than the roots. If that. I've found my dieffenbachia do better when the roots are snug in the pot
