Perplexed here. My ZZ plant has two top yellowing leaves on one of the stalks. It can’t be due to overwatering because I water once a month and it’s in terracotta with a fairly chunky mix. It’s in an east facing window room but about 6 feet away from the window. However, I did just repot it, into a bigger pot since the rhizomes were squished in there. The old and new soil was dry when it was transplanted and I didn’t water it till now, about ten days later (which is a total of about 24 days without water). Could this be repot stress? Or an old stalk?

It might still be overwatering. I keep mine in a clear pot so I can see the rhizomes and only water when they’re slightly wrinkled, which only happens about every 6-8 months 😅 of course it depends on your conditions, but yeah these guys are super drought tolerant

Hmmm true lol, sheesh those suckers go a long time for you. I’ll wait a good long while till the next watering then, especially since it’s in a larger pot. It was in a tiny 4 inch pot when I got it initially so that dried out pretty fast. One of the rhizomes actually looked pretty wrinkly when I repotted as well 🤷🏻‍♀️

Welp, I couldn’t bear the thought of losing my Zz to overwatering, sooo I repotted her into dry soil and am just going to leave her the f alone lol 😂
