I was gifted these Alocasias. They’re beautiful. However they came with a secondary gift. Spider mites. I know how to get rid of them so that’s all fine, my question for everyone is do you let the person you got them from know that they have spider mites? It’s someone that isn’t super into plants and I’m not sure how to politely be like “hey girl, ya got pests” without it sounding offensive

always tough news to deliver, but it’s the right thing to do so that they don’t lose their own plants or continue spreading mites when they gift to others. maybe suggest solutions with the news to soften the blow.

^ i agree especially because you know the knowledge behind what it does to the plants, they may just not know it could really affect them :) if you decide to tell them you can always add a few facts so it doesn’t sound offensive 😊
