I know my nerve plant is a drama queen but she’s getting out of control lately with her drooping. I am watering every couple of days because the soil gets dry and the droop starts. I sometimes top water, sometimes bottom water so it’s getting enough water. The bounce back is not happening as much these last few weeks. I did repot her maybe 6 months ago because she was growing out of her pot, went from a 4” to a 6” and she seemed happy. Any ideas on what could be causing the extra long droopy periods. Photo of her currently in water, this is after 20min and still super sad.

I would consider taking her out of the Teracotta, those wick a lot of moisture. Has your lighting changed?

I think have another pot that size that isn’t terracotta, maybe I’ll try that. Light is the same, I’ve kept it in the same spot the whole time I’ve had it which is almost 2yrs.

I agree. Though I’m a big fan of terracotta pots, there is some thought process as to which plant, type of substrate and the level of care you’re wanting to give it. I would use plastic or ceramic. When you water, check to see if, while the soil seems completely wet that the soil around the roots are not actually dry beneath the surface and not able to intake water properly.

Thank you! I took both of your advice just moved her back to a nursery pot to see if that helps. She did fine in her previous terracotta pot so I didn’t think twice when I moved up a size about pot type.

It might be lack of sufficient light if she was happy in terra cotta for months.

She’s had the same light the whole time I’ve had her. She’s in my kitchen window, gets bright morning sun and some afternoon. It’s also not my first winter with her because I thought of that too but she was fine last time.

Just made the move to a nursery pot so I’ll see how that helps. If in a few weeks she’s still droopy, I’ll move her to my front room where there is more sun.

Mine was the same way and watering was always the issue. I never let it completely dry out since it likes to remain moist. It’s also under a grow light and thriving now. It took a while though! They are so dramatic.
