I can’t tell if my plant has mealybugs or not? I am finding little tiny white specs here and there but I am not sure. They are all very hard and I don’t know if they are mealy bugs because I’ve never had them before. Any help or advice would be great!

Doesn’t look like it! Those might be just some damage to the stem… mealys are a lot bigger.

If it is mealy bugs, really up close they look like small isopods or rolly pollys. They also will have areas on leaves or near the joints of a plant that look like teeny tiny egg sacs or cotton spots. This is because they drink the juices from the plant and create these secretions for protection. I would also look into tripes. Is there anyway to upload a more focused photo really up close? hope to help :)

I looked at them as close and I could and they just looked like little circle crystal things, I honestly am not sure what it is, and I checked all the joint areas and there isn’t anything

It may just be sand and rock granules, give it a good rinse in the sink and look again, also to help with the damage to the stem with those scared over lacerations, just adding a dowel from the craft store and a little wire can help with support, and stop the damage from the heavy leaning. 👍🏼

One of the absolute BEST investments I made was a hand-held magnifying glass from the dollarstore, $2.00!! Some pests are super small and hard to distinguish with the naked eye. I use mine every single day to check out specs of things on my plants. I’ve found it soooo helpful.
