Hi! I have three grow lights (two weaker gooseneck ones and one black lamp) facing this monstera. All the other leaves are looking great and the browning has completely stopped after I created this setup HOWEVER this one leaf (has one of the weak gooseneck lights directly dancing it - no heat emitted) is starting to slightly yellow. Is this due to too much light? IGNORE THE YELLOW/BROWN SPOTTING ON THE TOP CORNER OF THE PLANT - I bought it like that.

    the yellowing leaf is most likely a sign of too much direct light, despite your grow light not emitting heat. Monsteras thrive in bright, indirect light, similar to their natural habitat under the canopies of larger trees, so direct light from a grow light can scorch the leaves. To fix this, move the gooseneck light slightly further away or angle it so it provides indirect light rather than shining directly on the leaf.

      Ohh I see! Thank you so much :)) Do you think the white gooseneck light and the black lamp at the front of the screen are at a good angle / far enough away? Those leaves don’t seem to be yellowing but asking just in case!!

      Hmm 🤔 move the black lamp a little more back. Don’t use too much light.

    i’d suspect a watering issue or root health problem first rather than too much light. the yellowing looks like a watering issue to me but it’s impossible to tell for sure without seeing the whole plant. plus, monstera grow wonderfully in bright light. i know many have theirs directly in south facing windows, thriving. mine are on the southeast corner of our enclosed porch, so it gets bright direct light until about noon and indirect/dappled light until later when it gets more direct light as the sun sets. no signs of too much light here. monstera are however very prone to root issues in my experience. they recover quickly if treated well though. the variegated ones are especially delicate i’ve heard, i’ve only cared for the standard green monstera. it’s also entirely possible that this leaf is just spent, and the plant is using the nutrients stored in the old leaf for new growth. if all the other leaves are looking good, i would just wait and see if this leaf dies, snip it off once it’s fully yellow/brown, and hopefully that will be it. if more leaves start to yellow and die i would definitely suggest checking on the roots. good luck 🌱

      Ohhh I see! One of the leaves (not pictured) came a bit browned and yellowing. It came in a suuuuuper small pot, this is what the roots looked like before I repotted it a few days ago Are there any signs of rot?
