I have mealybugs in my snake plants soil 😩. What should I do?! They leave creamy white spots on the leaves and I can’t cut the leaves because I have only 3 leaves. I clean it with a Q-tip and water. Any thing else I can do besides neem oil and insecticides? I don’t have any available.
That sucks , maybe repot it , mealy bugs can also live in the soil, I have these plant wipes that kill bugs and attract them away from the plant, but I’m not sure how well they would work for mealy bugs.

2개 좋아요 I would keep the watering down , not to bone dry soil just a bit under that, I thought of another thing I see people do , you could cover the pot and soil with like a plastic bag and dunk the plant in a bath of neem oil or something stronger. ( so it gets rid of all of the ones on the leaves )
좋아요 1개 I’ve seen mostly 1 part neem oil to 50 parts water but another way is 1ml of neem oil to 100ml water (for the bath/dunk)

For mealys on the plant, use alcohol and swabs, not water. For the soil, a simple repot probably won’t get rid of them. You need to rinse off and remove as much of the old soil as possible. That should be an easy task with a snake plant. Repot with fresh soil that you know for sure does not have mealys or eggs in it. Just to be safe, I would not use Miracle Grow. Then isolate. This should buy you time to get the proper insecticide or do research. A systemic may work too.

I had mealys in my kalanchoes soil. I first spot treated alone the stems and leaves with isopropyl alcohol then I took it out shook off all the dirt rinsed the roots with water and isopropyl alcohol let them dry out and repotted in clean soil that had systemic granules mixed in and a new pot. I went full on nuclear but it’s mealy free and just now bouncing back to what it was. Took me about 3 months or more to get rid of mealys in my collection. Had many plants infected but only the kalanchoe had them in the soil. Systemic granules and isopropyl alcohol worked best.
