I’ve had this peace lily for a few months. First pic is from purchase, and it struggled with flowers wilting before fully blooming and just looking crumpled; so I split them and placed them in hydroponics, giving nutrients every so often and in shade more than sun. But while I’m seeing a few new leaves, I see 2 older leaves browning (larger one-bottom middle pic). They have not thrived and definitely no flowers. I see so many beautiful pics of peace lilies from many of you. Would love suggestions. Thanks

    I don’t have anything helpful to share, just reassurance that it’s not just you! I tried so hard with mine and exactly the same thing kept happening, it would grow new leaves but regularly lose old ones. I just couldn’t keep it happy while my other plants were thriving so gave up and passed it on to someone else. Oh, and it was given to me by someone who was tired of how dramatic and sensitive it was. I’d love to know how to keep one happy!

      Thanks for sharing and your encouraging words. I’ll stop beating myself about this one. But it’s so hard to pass by this plant and not see that it’s barely hanging on (well maybe not at its deathbed yet but still struggling). 😩. I’ll keep talking to it and encouraging it 😝

    When moving into semi hydro, did you remove all the soil? It looks like your one planter is gravel and water. Your other planter has leca. When using leca, the old soil roots should be above the water level. In either case, the plant has soil roots, not water roots. That could be a problem. And nutrition must be for semi hydro. Many fertilizers are for both but you need to check the label. I’ve never taken a soil plant and placed it directly into water, which is the situation for the one planter with rocks. I don’t think the roots can uptake oxygen from the water. That’s why you keep roots above water with leca, until they develop water roots. Leca needs to be soaked a day or so before use also.

    Yes, I moved most if not all soil from the roots when I moved them to hydroponic. They are in a plastic pot inside the glass jar. I’ve topped the water with the Dyna-Gro foliage pro I heard was great for hydroponics, but not every time. How often should I be changing water and adding this? And I should pull the roots up a bit? Too much of it is in water? Thanks for your help!
