Hi! I have a spider plant that I bought recently. It already had the brown tips and cuts, and I am trying to revive it. I have noticed that since I have gotten it? The leaves are turning more pale and slightly shiny. I water it only when the soil is completely dry and it is under a grow light. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thank you!

It may need fertilizer. Fertilize it twice a month with 50% diluted fertilizer. The light might be too far or not running long enough. Grow lights could need at least 14 hours of daily run time. 🪴🍀

If it already had brown tips and cuts, it may be helpful to check the roots for rot. You may be good at making sure it’s watered properly, but that doesn’t mean the store taking care of it was.

Do you think I should trim off the grown dead portions? Or leave them and just check the roots?

Just an update but after giving it more water and a bigger pot it has bounced back. It now has new growth and darker leaves!
