Hey everyone! I’ve had this Gold Dust Croton for a little over a year now. It started out super full of foliage, but around February it started losing its bottom leaves and now looks like this. Has anyone experienced something similar or have suggestions for how to fix her? I keep her under a grow light for 12-14 hours a day and water her once every few days, if not more. Thank you so much in advance!
Could it be too much water? Mine has always been under a grow light and has thrived under the light. I use moisture indicator sticks in my plants and I water them when they turn white and I started doing this because a lot of my plants were dying from being overwatered. I have found these moisture indicator sticks from Amazon to be really accurate for almost all of my plants except for some of them in a very small or shallow pot (first photo). Are you fertilizing once in a while? Chunky soil? 🍀 Good luck.
Thank you! The ends of the leaves are pretty dry, so I’m wondering if it’s the opposite. I’ve been watering it pretty infrequently (whenever the app tells me to 😅) so that could be part of the problem. I’ll definitely look into the moisture sticks for some of my other plants! Some of my pothos have suffered from overwatering before, so those would be super helpful. Thanks again!!
