     I am also having a knat problem and have seen this as a solution online, do you mix with any water or straight alcohol??

   a sprinkle of cinnamon on the soil will kill the larvae :)

   Death Drops from Happy Happy Houseplants. Also Knock out Gnats. I also use the Zevo lights they kill the adults
