So I want to start growing plants and purchased my first plant the money tree. It began getting cuts on the leaves and I was making the mistake of direct sunlight so maybe that’s why but are those slight cuts on the leaves normal? Please any recommendations are appreciated

This could very much be insect damage. I would clean the leaves thoroughly with either a lint roller or a warm cloth. But do not leave the leaves wet as money tree leaves are very susceptible to leaf rot when water is left on them.

I honestly wiped it already with a warm water cloth and inspected it for bugs which I see none in sight so I did try the lint roller too
