The heck is going on with my plant? I believe it’s an African violet, but the leaves are all curling inward. It’s in a window that might be a little drafty, but all my windows are. So I need to repot it? I’ve been watering it from the bottom. Help! Why does it look so sad?

Overwatered? Not enough sun? Maybe needs some fertilizer?

Yes, looks like African violet. Take out the pot and check the roots. Make sure you didn’t accidentally overwater

It looks like it's just wilted. Check for root rot/overwatering, but if that isn't it, it's just thirsty. Maybe your bottom watering isn't soaking long enough to get the center of the soil, or maybe it's drying out unusually fast with the draft. You can also check the temperature in that spot; it might be getting too cold at night

Thank you everyone! I repotted it and it was very dry so I’m going to water it more frequently

I’ve seen my African violet go through this before, so here’s a before-and-after to give you an idea. What I did was repot it into new soil that’s specifically for African violets because they need a more acidic soil. After letting it sit for a few days, I trimmed back all the curling leaves until there was one new, healthy leaf. I also made sure to stick to the watering schedule and put it under a grow light. If you don’t have one, try to find a spot that gets bright, indirect light. Good luck! If you have any questions, just reply to this.
