Is this monstera getting too much sun? Not sure what's wrong with it. I water it when the soil is bone dry should I water more? Advice please. New plant owner

What type of soil is it in and how much light does it get daily?

Stick your hands in the dirt and stir it around to check. Monsteras need an aroid soil, lots of chunky material and very fast draining. The soil could be holding too much moisture for too long. What direction is the window facing and how often do you typically water?

How many hours a day would you say it has direct sun straight on it?

It’s good to figure out which direction your windows are facing when deciding where to place plants. If you’re in the northern hemisphere, the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. • Direct sunlight in the morning = East-facing windows • Lots of direct sunlight in the afternoon = West facing • Some sunlight in the afternoon = South-facing • No direct sunlight = North-facing It does look like the plant might be getting too much light, but you can adapt it to the area. Move it a few feet away from the window, then gradually move back to that spot over the next month or so.
