My Hoya 'Flamingo Dream' has really started to grow since Spring kicked off... there's always a but!.... BUTTTT one of its new leafs has come out like so... I was pretty sure it didn't develop correctly and would just die back, however! It seems to be continuing to grow and get larger so now im thoroughly confused 😆 all other new growth leafs are fine and the verigation is how I would expect It's my first and only Hoya to date so I would apprishate some guidance if anyone with more Hoya experence has ever had this happen?

My Hoyas new growth is white, not green and white…my Alexa says it’s showing off that it’s happy with as much light as it’s getting…?

Hummm that's interesting! 🤔 Thanks for sharing your experence! I really wouldn't have thought timing would have a fully verigated leaf as it gets good light.... but not that amazing 😆

Mine has done the same thing! Here’s a picture of when I got it and some pictures from today. When I looked it up it said it can be from high light conditions and the leaves can develop fully but may drop sooner than normal leaves which is sad but at least they’re pretty!

Thank god im not alone with this as it genuinely had me baffled 🤭 guess im happy that its nothing it shouldn't be doing but im still really stumped at how it thought it was getting enough light to pull that off 😆 its really not in the brightest of spots!

Here’s an example of a whole leaf pairing that came out white! I was confused at first, but they matured fine and have lasted long…

I’ve never cared for this type of plant but the name “flamingo dream” indicates to me that pink leaves are not unusual for this plant…. OK, after some Googling it says this is caused by bright, indirect sunlight. Sounds like it’s fine as long as it’s not getting too much sun. The pink color is a sort of natural “sunscreen” for the plant.

Verigation is actually caused my high levels of light.. its of not help to the plant as can actually impact photosynthesis... it also caught me off guard as the verigation on this leaf is not the typical type... above responses sorted it ✌️
