I NEED HELP I got this really big golden pothos, and it is my favorite plant, I love it so much, and when I got it, it was fine— but l've had her for about two weeks and her leaves are turning yellow and then brown. I hadn't watered her for two weeks so I thought she just needed some water and food, so I did, and trimmed her up a bit, even asked a friend why and they said to give her more light, so I have, but it hasn't worked and it getting progressively worse by the hour and I have no idea what's wrong or what to do, and I'm worried I can't save her ☹️ (It looks worse irl and it's nighttime)

It looks like you have your pothos next to a window which means the temperature can fluctuate quickly and stress the plant especially with the season changing. Try changing location🤷🏻‍♂️. Advice from a beginner tho so take it with a grain of salt lol. Hope it gets better 🙏🏼

You should try it and give an update. Hopefully that was the issue. I’m genuinely invested in your plant now 😂

I moved her from the window for about a night and she didn’t seem to get more yellow leaves, so then I moved her into the core of my house, which is well lit in the day, and much warmer (ac doesn’t work in my room) and I’ll see how she is in three days :p

Did you check it over for pests or pest damage? Just try not to over correct, by overwatering. If a plant starts to have an issue, say dehydrated, you water it, and its not going to instantly bounce back usually. But don't then overwater it. It should be fine in the window, unless you don't heat your house, or have old single pane windows. , most plants will be fine near a window, unless they just love heat. Most of mine are in or near a window with no issue

I haven’t seen pest damage, and I’ve treated it with neem oil on the leaves and soil about twice now

The neem oil could be harming the leaves? Are the affected leaves in order on the stem (maybe indicating root/watering issue) or are they spread throughout?

Several things can cause yellowing: - Repotting: Repotting can damage and disturb the root system. - Overwatering: Causes root rot and discolored leaves. Use a wooden skewer or other tool to probe to the bottom of the pot for moisture in the soil. Let the soil dry before watering again. - Poor or no drainage: Both conditions lead to root rot from excess water in the soil. - Over fertilizing: Many plants come with timed release fertilizer beads in the soil that are effective for about 8 months. Adding more fertilizer like liquid fertilizer can cause yellowing and dead patches. - Others: Insufficient light, adjusting to a new environment, hard water sensitivity and pests can cause yellowing and leaf drop. I recommend stop applying Neem oil unless you find pests. Only water when the soil is dry. Leaves will be slightly limp. Let the pant adjust to the new environment. Some plants take more than 2 weeks to acclimate. 🍀🪴

Not sure if you have ever repotted it, sometimes there are multiple plants in one pot. It might just be that one of the plants is having a root issue. I would gently check the roots for rot. It could also be inconsistent watering.

If nothing is working, my last ditch, it’s going to die anyway, move is to take it out of the pot and look at the roots. More often than not, it’s root rot, root bound or the pot is way too big. Worst case with a pothos you can chop and prop it in water
