   That looks like lichen.. I don’t know how to get rid of it though, good luck!

   Definitely lichen. They typically don’t harm the plant it’s on. It climbs to get sunlight. You can trim the branches if you have to trim them anyway. Some roses must be trimmed back each spring. You can treat with a spray like Moss Max. I’ve never used it. Test on plants/grass in the area before applying chemicals. 🍀🪴

   Lichen and plants are actually mutually symbiotic. Lichen can fix atmospheric nitrogen for a plant.
