Newbie plant mom…only a few months. My Camille, Philo and Pothos are looking not too happy. I used a commerical bag of indoor potting soil and perlite. I water the Pothos and Philo every 5 days, Camille 8 days. Liquid fertilizer every 3 weeks. Grow lights are on for about 12-14 hours per day.
Every 5–8 days may be a little frequent for pothos and most philos. I’d recommend checking the soil moisture before each watering instead of following a schedule. I like using bamboo skewers—they’re an easy way to tell if the soil is still damp. If the soil is staying wet for too long, they can start to show signs of overwatering and eventually root rot.

i concur. i'd also reduce the amount of light. try 9 hrs.

0 likesThank you! I’ll drop the time down. They do get some good indirect light in the late afternoon. Should I move them to avoid that extra light in the late afternoon?
0 likes or you could try just using the afternoon sun, no grow light? i have recently discovered that a lot of my plants are doing better with less light than I was giving.
0 likes i actually fertilize (highly diluted) with every feeding. usually 1/2 of a dropper per gallon of water. i use super thrive. i find it's easier (rather than tracking separately ---i have 80 plants & found the planta reminders unhelpful because they messed with the watering reminders) & haven't seen any signs of over fertilization.
0 likes Depending on your set up and window orientation I’d be cautious of the afternoon light since it’s much stronger than the gentle morning light. I would recommend checking the roots on all of them and removing any brown or mushy bits, then repotting into a chunky soil mix, and positioning them so they can catch some morning rays ☀️🪴
1 likeYes, that is on my list since it seems like they are getting overwatered. I’ve read lots of different things about chunky soil. What is a good mix for that?
