Help, my string of pearls was looking very healthy until about a week ago, and now most of its ‘strings’ are either becoming shriveled or rotten and there’s some sort of mold/ miniature ant-like animals running around the soil

    Same - minus the insects!

Are the insects white and fuzzy looking? Those would be mealy bugs. You’ll need to remove them with isopropyl alcohol on a qtip. You can also make a diluted spray but you may want to test it on a section of your string of pearls before applying it everywhere.

It’s probably going into root rot decomposing territory…possibly fungus gnats in the soil too or thrips not sure what you mean by ant like
