Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄 I’m a new plant owner and recently bought a Nerve Plant from Home Depot on December 1st. I repotted it the same day using their potting mix. I’ve been watering it once a week, following the recommendations from this plant care app. I live in San Jose, CA, and it’s been pretty gloomy lately with very little sunlight. Could this lack of sunlight be affecting my plant? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Plants go through stress when moved to a new environment. They need time to adjust. It can take a couple of weeks for a small plant. Immediately repotting adds more stress due to damaged or disturbed roots. Watering by schedule without verifying it actually needs water can cause overwatering. Waiting for a scheduled watering date can cause under watering if the plant gets too dry during the wait. It looks under watered. Check for moisture in the soil using a wooden or bamboo meat skewer. A dry skewer end indicates the soil is dry and ready for water. Throughly water and drain. Lighting can be added with a grow light. 🍀🪴

I would get a smaller pot their roots are VERY VERY fragile and small so you don’t need a big pot they love misting and water when dry. Also make sure you pinch it which you want the pinch the top leaves of the plant so it grows 2 stems and not 1 which will make it more bushy like this

I have 2 of these and they do not like to be too close to the window! Direct sunlight will easily scorch the leaves. I recommend keeping them several feet away from the window. So long as the room is sunny they do really well with indirect sunlight. Keep their soil moist and mist them twice per week and they will be beautiful for a long time 😍
