I just recently (maybe 2 weeks+ ago) bought this Pothos plant from a small store and since I got it it has had little tiny flies in the bottom… I’m not sure if the roots are rotted or what, but I think the soil is a little moldy. I’m hoping that moving it outside for a bit will help it dry out a bit, but I wanted to see if anyone had a suggestion?

The pot is too big and the high sides might be blocking air circulation needed to help evaporate the moisture in the soil. Add perlite to increase drainage. Check the roots for any sign of rot which can happen in slow drying soil. Replace the soil if needed. A commercial fungicide can get rid of the mold. They can burn in full sunlight. Regulate the length of time the plant is in full sun.

Hi, Aetumn! My golden pothos develops those same little fuzzies on the top of the soil at times. I remember reading that they are not harmful to the plant, they may just appear at times when you are growing plants indoors. I occasionally move my pothos to a porch area and the fuzzies will disappear eventually.
