Fungus gnats have become a problem over here. Never have I had an issue like this. I must have brought a new plant home and they just went crazy and now they are everywhere. I bought the sticky pads for all the plants and was advised to use this spray every 7 days until no more gnats are seen. Says safe for house plants, but now I’m scared it’s gonna hurt my plants. HELP!

I would just be worried of over-spraying and ending up with a overwatering situation and rot from spraying plants too frequently. This is plant-dependent though

Good luck! My house was inundated with the annoying pests. I stripped all the dirt off the roots of four of my house plants yesterday and repotted them in desperation and I'm going to use death drops for every watering from here on out on all my plants. Those little gnats can make you crazy!

A healthy, moist soil is what fungus gnats thrive in. They are detrimental to young plants with small roots because they eat it. Beneficial nematodes can be used to get rid of them. You could make a tea from mosquito bits, or buy a liquid solution that also contains the nematodes that eat gnats in the soil, where they live. I also use those blue light sticky traps. Those help wipe out several generations of gnats. There are good bugs and bad bugs. These bugs are also called nematodes and are a solution to the problem. Everything else would be treating the symptom.

That spray is safe for your plants but if it is infested, you need to get them out of the soil. Get some mosquito bits, soak them and use that water to water your plants. You could also use systemic granules to get the job done faster.
