Hi everyone! I recently combined my two albos into the same pot, and my (cherished) original plant that I’ve had for 3 years is dying and idk what’s wrong. It has always had the same schedule for watering and the soil and pot isn’t the issue. Three leaves just fell off while watering and one arial root has completely shriveled up. I included some pics of the leaves that fell off and the actual current state of the plants, please help!

This really looks like root stress from combining two established albos. 😬 The timing and symptoms line up: leaves dropping while watering, crispy brown patches, yellowing edges, wilting, and a shriveled aerial root all point to roots that aren’t moving water properly. Even if the watering schedule didn’t change and the soil seems fine, merging mature albos is very stressful and often leads to root damage or one plant outcompeting the other. I’d separate them as soon as possible, gently check the roots, remove anything brown or mushy, and repot each plant on its own in a pot that’s appropriately sized for the remaining root mass (planter should be about 1 inch bigger than the root ball). Also make sure they’re in very well-draining potting mix that’s good for aroids. Let the soil dry a bit more than usual while it recovers, and avoid fertilizing until they’ve adjusted. This is a really common post-repot issue with albos, but acting quickly will give your older plant the best chance. Good luck!
