Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice with my Peace Lily. I’m a complete newbie to plant keeping, and I’m slowly building up my collection. I currently have a snake plant, a yucca plant, a mini Swiss cheese plant, and three anthuriums. Most of them seem to be doing fine, but my Peace Lily has me a bit confused. I recently gave it a dose of liquid fertiliser as recommended by my local garden centre, but shortly afterwards the plant started to droop quite a lot. Since then, I’ve rinsed the roots thoroughly with dechlorinated water and repotted it into fresh soil. I placed it near a window for about a week and have only watered it lightly. What’s strange is that I have another Peace Lily thriving with its roots sitting in the sump of my aquarium, so I’m not sure why this one is struggling. Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks 😊

Peace Lily are far from peaceful! They are drama queens so probably just need to adjust to the changes

Haha I hope you’re right this Peace Lily has more mood swings than me on a Monday morning. 😅 The others are thriving and this one’s acting like it needs a handwritten apology and a therapist. Hopefully it settles down soon before it files a formal complaint against me! I wanted to know if anyone else has had this and how to fix the stubborn teenager

I would call myself a beginner when it comes to this plant thing also. My mom gave me this gigantic peace lily that her church gifted her when my uncle passed. When she brought it to me the leaves were withering over. I discovered the soil was dry and the plant looked 100% better the next day. Also, from my understanding they don’t need much sunlight only a little.

Wow this is huge, I have another one that is thriving but none are as big as this. But I’ll keep on with this and see if it perks back up.

Peace lilies are dramatic. Every time you walk by them and not acknowledge them, they will will. I do know they hate tap water. I’m in the process of transferring g mine to Mecca to see if this will stop the wilting woes. Have you tried moving your peace lily from soil to water?

Haha honestly these Peace Lilies really do act like they need daily compliments just to survive! 😅 Mine actually started in soil but I quickly changed it to water but it clearly hated it full drama, full meltdown. That’s why I’m back to soil now… at this point I’m just trying to find whatever lifestyle makes it stop pretending to faint every five minutes!

I have two little plants of the same plant you are talking about. They do like to express themselves. I must admit. I dont take much notice!! Smiles

They have way too many mood swings for me. I repotted mine and watered them both with a lil fertilizer and I don’t know if they will ever recover. It’s been almost a week

I agree they are very temperamental and take a lot to keep them happy. I have just started to get some new growth but it’s been consistent with water and it’s slow process

Where is the info we are supposed to get when stating plant is not thriving?

Dilute the fertilizer more than what is recommended. They are dramatic but give it a few weeks to acclimate before you fertilize again. I water mine weekly. Usually droops by Monday when I water it again but mine does not have any drainage holes so I don’t drown it. Usually about 1/4 cup. Recently I’ve been giving just a few table spoon more of water on Thursday or Friday. Needs less in winter despite being an indoor plant.
