So this Elephant Bush aka Portulacaria Afra has just dropped 11 leaves. One photo is from 11 days ago. The other two are from today, with and without encircled leaves. I’m guessing it’s a sign of too much water, but open to other comments if you’ve had any similar experience. PlantyAnn??Thank you in advance.

Mine has dropped so many leaves. I’ve been blaming winter. But it didn’t happen last year.

Is it cold or humid where you have this plant? I bet that either is causing the leaves to fall. It could also be overwatering, I would check the roots. Otherwise, sometimes plants just do weird stuff. But hey, now you can propagate some more!

Hmmm… 🤔 Maybe too humid where located. Thanks 🪴

Be sure to spray for spider mites; regularly. They’re quite bothered by even the smallest amount. And you may not always spot them. And yes, check the bottom inside of the pot/roots for retained moisture. Mine will drop leaves for too much sun or when I move it inside in winter or outside in spring (necessary in TX w/heat or AC always going).
