Anyone know what the cause of these black spots on the back of my pilea peperomioides could be? It’s only on older leaves, but the plant otherwise doesn’t seem to be showing signs of distress (other than that yellow leaf I should prune)— there’s steady growth from the mother plant and plenty of new pups!

That is a beautiful plant! With the winter weather is there enough humidity?

Just found a video on Tiktok (@Planthero) where he explains this is due to the plant producing excess sugar & it turns to mold (something to do with it being in the peppercorn family?). Seems to just be a natural result of the plant being indoors and doesn’t indicate that it’s unhealthy 🤷🏻‍♀️
