My monstera is getting black spots on NEW leaves 😭 what is going on?? I water/fertilze on time and she’s got a grow light. This specific leaf is from a cutting but there’s 1 or 2 more on the mother plant. Help 😭

Usually with plants in water you don’t want to start fertilizing until they have a root system to support it…..I would switch to just water until its grown a decent set of root. Unless its got those and I just can’t see in the photo!

Oh this was a cutting and I just put it in water! Should have clarified that. The mother plant has 2-3 leaves that look like this, open and closed.

Post pic of mother plant. Might need to amend soil to have better drainage and make sure pot has drainage holes. Might need to take out and examine roots and soil for signs of rot. Might need a bigger pot. Might have pests.

So she’s in a nursery pot but sits in another pot without drainage. I leave it in the sink to drain completely before putting it back in the pot. I haven’t seen any pests and have dug around in the soil (carefully haha)

I bet she needs a bigger pot! She looks real big for that one. I’d pull her out and repot her in a bigger one and check on roots while doing so. She might be getting to be mostly roots in there so not able to be properly watered with the root to soil ratio she’s got.
