These are some leaves from my Bolivian dude. I’m guessing it’s a combo of underwatering, cold, light, and root binding, but I just saw a thrip on another plant so: is this early thrip damage? The plant looked similar last time, but I don’t see any droppings, juvenile thrips, or crawling lines like I have in the past. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

Show the entire plant, its soil and lighting in its location. It’s difficult to judge with a few leaves. Tradescantia drops leaves for many reasons including aging, and watering/lighting/pests/temperature/fertilizer issues.

It seems to get enough light (afternoon is brighter), but it could probably use some consistency when it comes to watering. Most of the damage is on interior leaves, so I feel like rot could easily be the culprit combined with some edema from changing seasons on the sill

I can’t see the soil mixture. But, I don’t think it’s rot. Looks like aging or a late watering. I have several of these. They are Callisia Repens, a cousin to the larger tradescantia. I have the Gold variety. I bought two this summer. They have acted like weeds on patio. The original pots got too dry and went bald near the roots. I will have to cut them to regrow from the pot. I plan to just get rid of them. Leaf shedding is expected as it ages or gets a bit dryer than normal. Root rot will be very obvious as the plant slowly dies off from the roots and stems. Your plant does not have those obvious symptoms of root rot. It actually looks very healthy! It’s better than mine!😂 You’re doing a great job!

Thanks! I’m just a little jumpy after a long battle with thrips this summer. I’ve got a lot of tradescantia since they are so easy to propagate but they just melt under pest stress
