I just bought this last week and first one leave was yellowing so I moved it to the window for more light via plant doctor. Now a second leaf is yellowing. I’m not sure when last this was watered but I have a tendency to drown plants. Should I water asap?

  1. Sunny

This is a syngonium. It cannot take direct sun on its leaves. It will sunburn! I have about 17 varieties. They like bright indirect light. They are epiphytes. They get filtered sunlight in their native regions growing on tree trunks. I recommend adjusting the blinds to add more light without direct sunlight touching the plant. Yellowing can also be aging, can be stress of moving to a new environment or over watering. Check out the roots. Remove the plant from the pot and check the moisture level. Let the soil dry out a few hours (or up to 1 day), if the soil is soaking wet, before putting it back in the pot. Don’t water again until the soil is over 50 percent dry (slightly drooping leaves). For this size pot and plant, watering once a week in colder months is typical. Watering every 3 to 5 days in the warmer growing season is typical.
