😔 I decided to check some of my plants that had suspicious markings after watching a video on microscopic mites that are around (especially Hoyas I guess.) And what do you know first plant I picked out had them. I’ve washed it thoroughly with castille soap and neem oil and quarantined the plant. Now every progress report for every plant gets a ā€œmiteā€ report. So far I haven’t found any more. šŸ˜

They were very hard to see even with the microscope. But they were walking.

Ugh, sorry to hear you’re having to deal with mite pests. I haven’t had those before (working through my first fungus gnat infestation) and I liked it much better when there were no bugs! Haha Good luck getting your situation under control and having the mites eradicated. šŸ¤ž

try BTI drops for your gnats. I use one drop per gallon and water and use it every time I water my plants and no gnats!

Thanks for the tip! From what I’ve read, liquid BTI isn’t permitted for sale here in Canada. We have mosquito dunks though so I’ve been making a BTI tea from a dunk broken up into pieces and steeping it in a tea bag. So far I’ve only used this tea for a week on my plants so I definitely need to give it more time to do its thing. Unfortunately it looks like mosquito bits aren’t sold here either. There’s also the hydrogen peroxide / water route but I haven’t done that yet and hoping I don’t have to. šŸ¤ž

oh I see. mosquito dunks are the same at the drops but just not in liquid form. I use mine with every watering so you might have to use it more often to see a good result.
