Does anyone have success with pony tail palms? Could give me a few tips? I’ve had this almost a year and every time I clean it I have to cut off a ton of dead. Mostly the tips, but some of the new growth didn’t look good this time. It isn’t in direct light. I water it whenever it drys out. My house has a humidity level of about 60+. And I use filtered water. 🤷‍♀️

My ponytail palm (7 feet tall, 1 foot base diameter) needs lots of water. The leaves will turn yellow and brown when it needs water. It will drop the lower leaves, then, the newer leaves if water is not enough. My tree in the picture needed water 4 days ago. I just got busy and missed the schedule. The lower leaves are yellowing and will die off. The newest leaves are still good because the tree is 10+ years old and can store some moisture. Your tree needs more water, maybe more light and maybe more fertilizer. My tree has been in full sun for over 10 years including the record breaking heatwave last summer. Heavy trunk palms are sun worshippers. Slowly acclimate the tree to increasing light. I use water from the garden hose. Mine is not sensitive to water.
