Is this scale? My fishbone cactus has these lumps on it in two or three places. They are hard and crusty. Is this scale? How do I get rid of them? Am I doing something to cause this? Thanks so much!

    It’s hard to tell if it’s scale from the picture which is not clear. Dab it with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. This will kill the crusty scale. Scrape it off to expose the baby scales underneath, if it’s scale. Baby scales are difficult to see. Spray with soapy dishwater to kill the small ones that are still moving and have not sealed themselves to the plant.
