Is this mold or mineral deposits on my plants soil? I had a problem with what I thought was mold for these Chinese evergreens 2 weeks prior, so I changed out the soil and added some materials to help with drainage. I then watered them and 5 days later I saw what I thought was mold developing so I watered them with a hydrogen peroxide mix and added cinnamon to remove and prevent mold growth. I have also been putting them in a sunnier spot to prevent mold. I now see that this white substance continues to appear on the soil so I was wondering if it was mold or mineral deposits from watering. If it is mold what other solutions are there to prevent further growth?

Looks like mold. Could also be the soil -like it might just be a bad bag. But apparently mold means healthy soil & isn’t worrisome. How often are you watering?

The first time it appeared with the first batch of soils I only watered it when I felt that the soil was dry which was about once a week. I only watered this new batch the day that I repotted it, then when I noticed the white spots appear I used a hydrogen peroxide mix 2 days later

Scrape off the top layer of mold and discard. Use 1part 3%hydrogen peroxide 3parrts water solution and rinse soil. I like to fluff up the top layer of soil so it’s not compacted too, this will let it dry out and absorb moisture below quicker. If it doesn’t go away you have to repot and ditch the soil outside, it’s still good, just using outside will allow it to air out quicker
