Hello, I’m a fairly new plant mom & have been troubleshooting this plant for the last month. At first I thought it was infected so I started spraying it with copper fungicide. That seemed to help a little bit I could tell the problem is deeper. I was finally able to dump the pot of soil to check the roots and this is what they look like. The flower shop that sold me this plant gave it to me in a planter that had zero drainage holes, so the soil was super moist even tho we’ve only watered it minimally. 😫 Do yiu think the brown spots and sickness was solely due to no drainage or something else too? I’m repotting today with my own mix of good draining soil, perlite, peat moss. I pray I can revive this beauty. Should I just trim the brown part from the leaves or what else can I do to help this sick plant? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏

I’m definitely not a plant expert either and I’ve only had house plants for about a year or so but if it was my plant I would trim off all of the brown/rotting/mushy roots, trim off any leaves that are yellowing/browning, and repot with new soil in a pot with drainage. Water it but make sure excess drains thoroughly, then make sure it has plenty of light and try to only water when the soil is dry going forward. If it can be propagated I’d also try to take a cutting of it and try to root it in water just in case the mother plant doesn’t make it.

Most discolouration in leaves won’t return back to the green it once was, I agree with Jacqui, i would trim the discolouration in the leaves and if you find any dark/mushy roots id cut them off aswell. little bit of leaf curl from excess moisture but other then that it’s definitely not a horrible case and once you repot the plant in a well draining pot it should bounce back! :)
