Anyone know reasons why my ficus leaves are dropping? I just barely touched a leaf and it fell off so easily. I brought it home from a nursery a week ago and watered it because the soil was completely dry. It’s located by a bright window but not direct sun.

Usually I would say it got overwatered, but maybe that’s not the case since it was dry. It could be that the store you bought it from under watered it and so when you watered it may have shocked it. I always let my ficus elastica dry out completely before I water it so I would continue to do the same thing if I were you because it doesn’t sound like you did anything wrong.

could be from the stress of acclimating to your home versus the greenhouse

Personally I would repot it :)

Ficus’ are so fussy. They’ll drop leaves in a tantrum even if they are moved to different spots around the house. It’s likely stressed from being moved from the store to your home. Also the soil isn’t looking good.. I’d recommend repotting it once it’s climatized to your home
