Hello, My Echeveria plant is not in a good shape. It is a bit damp at the bottom but top layers are dry. It gets plenty of light and the temps are in the 90’s-100’s. Our climate is dry with humidity lower than 20% There is a ceiling fan close by and the A/c vent is high up. It is located in the kitchen which stays about 78-80 degrees right now. Can anyone tell me what do to save it?

I don’t know for sure, but it looks like it might be underwatered. Surprisingly, I’ve found my Echeveria wants to be at least a little moist. It starts to throw out roots and leaves dry up if I let it dry out too much. Kind of different situation, I was recently at an IKEA. They had many succulent arrangements which of course haven’t been watered since they’ve been in the store. In all of them, the Echeverias were dead while the other plants (kalanchoe, haworthia, etc.) were still alive. So yeah, I think just water it more often, make sure there’s proper drainage, ensure the soil’s not hydrophobic, and let it get as much light as possible. It should recover eventually.

You know you can pull off all the dried leaves right?

No I didn’t. I was afraid to touch it and do more damage. Thank you for your kindness.

But then the Plant won’t have hardly any leaves!

If you pull off the dead leaves there is a chance that new plants will grow in their place!
