Hey everyone, I just started taking care of this palm I’m not sure the exact name but wanted to ask a few things. 1. I started noticing this discoloration and am not sure if it’s from not enough water / sunlight or maybe too much water ? I have the watering globe and have filled it up twice (once yesterday and once when I bought it on Tuesday). Just wanted to know what I can do to keep it healthy. 2. Is the placement bad when I put it in the corner ? I keep the blinds open during the day but the east facing one closed most of the time since it heats the room a lot but wanted to know if maybe it needs more sunlight. I did buy it from the “indoor” section at Home Depot but unfortunately they didn’t really give me much guidance besides water it. Thanks !

Globes are not really the best because it doesn’t allow the plant to do what it wants so like retain vs let go of water. But in this case it appears to be humidity so try adding a humidifier near it and see what works. To know for sure get an indoor thermo-hydrometer to see what ur currently working with and then cross match that with a quick google search to see if it is at the right spot.

is the discoloration only on the tips of leaves that are directly in the light? if so it could possibly be leaf scorch/burn

You need to water with either rain or distilled + add humidifier… palms like humidity all the time. I don’t use tap water only distilled and none of my plants 30+ have a single tip that is brown. Its the water and humidity.
