Is she dying? Seems like I overwatered. I just bought new pot mix today and replaced the original soil. Would that help? What else can i do? T T

Did you see mushy brown roots? They need to be trimmed off and the plant needs to be bathed in a 50/50 hydrogen peroxide / water mix and let to dry before repotting

If not the disease can get into the soil, the other roots, and the corm 😢
0개 좋아요ah I didn’t pay attention to them! the root is very closely intertwined in the part of its original soil. I don’t think I can separate them with the soil. What should I do?

Oh you really have to try to break out the roots, you can see videos on YouTube about that. It's exhausting but if you do it right the plant bounces back. I had an Alocasia lose 3 leaves before I figured out how to do this and now he's regrown all his roots and just pushed out a new leaf.

0개 좋아요Take your time! I use a wooden chopstick and gently wiggle it in all over loosening the roots/dirt, then shake a bit, and repeat. This can take me 30-45mins depending on the root ball.

Good luck, try with a small piece from the bottom first because I agree it's scary to untangle the roots the first time. Take your time shaking and loosening. I used my fingers directly at first because I could be the most gentle that way. Trim as much as you have to that's rotten, don't leave any mushy brown pieces, even if your plant will look bald, you have to let him focus on his roots. It's stressful but your plant will feel clean and relieved to not be sick anymore. I watered with half a baby aspirin crushed and mixed into a water bottle after repotting which helps with the stress
