This is my Norfolk Island pine and I got her awhile ago but just realized that her lower branches are painted green! So it is not a big surprise they are dying is there anything I can do to help her? And once the branches die and fall off will lower branches grow back?

I do not have experience with pine, but I would trim the dead branches! Usually trees and bushes do well with a yearly trimming, and I’d say that rule should be the same for this little guy!

I just looked it up- pruning is not recommended, but trimming dead growth is okay!

I was also reading that pruning isn’t recommended because cutting the branches won’t result in new growth. So if you do trim the dead branches I don’t think they will grow back, but I’d need to do more research to be certain!

My dad gave me one during Christmas and the branches WILL NOT grow back if you cut them. Humidity does not exist in my home and I had to find out the hard way with my tropical plants. It pretty much needs no drafts and a humid area. Mine has come so far, I had to put it outside to keep it safe. But yours looks great!

Yes the bottom has been painted green so it appears green even though it is brown
