Does anyone know what kind of pest would cause this kind of damage? If a pest at all? I’ve had spider mites in the past and this looks significantly different. There was no webbing, I looked with a magnifying glass and saw nothing. I have no clue what this can be. All other leaves on this plant look great. I also don’t think this leaf looks sad??? The plants that were next to this plant are also good. I have no idea what this is 😂
Sometimes when I have new leaves with a velvety texture, they come out like this when new. I thought it was spider-mites at first as well. It fades over time. Not sure what causes it though.

Thrips will do this. If the leaf gets stuck too, check inside the curl

I am thinking thrips too. I think they like to nibble on new leafs when they are forming and get really tucked up in there and no way to get to them.
2 likes Do you have tips on how to get rid of them? I’ve never had them before. I rinsed the leaves, washed them with tea tree&peppermint castille soap, let them soak in the soap for 30 minutes. Then I rinsed them and sprayed the leaves and soil with neem. I also have her isolated and checked/treated everyone else in the cabinet where this one was.

You can use beneficial mites
0 likes Yeah pretty much what you did. Rinse and repeat a few more times, once a week. Or bennifisial mites. But not both at same time. One or the other.
